Titanic Deck Dresses

Above is another one of Tracie Arnold's knock-out re-creations! Tracie writes, "Here are the pictures of my newly finished Deck Dress. It is a two piece that consists of a long-sleeved princess petticoat with embroidered cuffs and then the deck dress complete with embroidery. The embroidery differs from the film but it was not in the budget of this gown to digitize a more accurate pattern. I just picked a pattern that had a vintage look to it. :) I think it turned out pretty nice and will be extremely comfortable since it is not fitted in the waist. The belt draws everything in and makes the pleats lie in place. The back portion was fun to figure out but I think I got it. I even made a purse to match and hat :) This outfit was made for one of the ladies in the organization I belong to called The Social Order of the Unsinkable Molly Brown." Beautiful work, once again!

Above is Christine's lovely re-creation of the "promenade" or "deck" dress, done in a beautiful textured satin (see the fabric detail photo). Beautiful!

This gorgeous reproduction of Rose's "strolling the deck" outfit was made by Sabine of Movie Costumes for Kay. Aren't the materials luscious? Bravo, Sabine!
