A Pinafore Dress for Mirial

313.jpg

Hello All!That's not me...that's my model...okay, she's my sister, Mirial. Isn't she cute as a button?! She was so chipper while I did up her hair and made her pose outside, toting her around all over our yard. Her favorite picture to take was the one where she got to hug the tree.I made the dress about two months ago on my 15th birthday. I don't think it would be considered historical unless you think of it as a pinafore without the dress underneath. The fabric is vintage, though. I wish I could have gotten a close up of it. It's a little girl with a big hat. At first, I thought it was Strawberry Shortcake, but then I found out that she wasn't created until the late 70's. The fabric is older than that. It belonged to my great-grandmother Doris and was given to me by my grandmother, Eileen, for my birthday several years ago. God bless my mother and grandmother for teaching me how to sew well! I wish I could post all the pictures of things that they've created. Maybe I should someday.Thank you for giving people the opportunity share their passion.~McKenna

Absolutely darling! McKenna, I am so proud of you for sewing for your sister. That is putting talent to wonderful use. And she looks so proud of her vintage outfit. The hairstyle is precious, too. Thanks so much for sharing!
