Robin's Regency Ensemble

IMG_1161.jpg

I studied abroad in the UK about two years ago, and recently went back for a visit. As soon as I found out that I would be able to visit Bath and surroundings, I knew I had to create a Regency dress. I love all things Jane Austen and Regency in general, so it had to happen. I used the Simplicity version of Mrs Chancey's pattern to create the sage green short-sleeved gown. Later on in my visit, a friend and I decided to each make a second gown -- that's the rust-coloured long-sleeved one. Photos were taken at Lacock Abbey near Bath, the Royal Crescent in Bath, and Chirk Castle in Wales. Thank you Mrs Chancey for creating such a beautiful, sewable, and wearable pattern! I had so much fun making and then wearing these dresses, and am looking for another occasion to wear them.Robin

Ah! Is there anything more wonderful than wearing period gowns "on location?" These photos are delightful and make me all the more eager to head back across the Pond. You did beautiful work, Robin! Thanks so much for sharing!
