I made two Regency dresses for my daughters to wear for my sister-in-law's wedding. They are 11 months, and 2 years old. Sizes one and 1 and 2 fit perfectly, though they are both on the small side. I used a 100% cotton from Wal-Mart. I made both dresses with the "drawstring" look. I really like how easy they were to put together and to get on and off. I also think the gathering across the bodice made the cotton a little dressier for a wedding. The toddler also has a ribbon tie kept in place with thread carriers which really helped to pull it all together. I was also going to put a tie on the baby's dress but couldn't find my extra spool of ribbon. The girls are also both wearing a poofy gathered skirts underneath as petticoats. It was amazing to see how something so simple really gave the dresses life! Thank you so making such a lovely pattern. ~ Natalie L.These are so adorable, Natalie! I love the color, and you are right about the "drawstring"-look fit; it really is easier to wear with elastic and less fussy than buttons. Beautiful work!
