Jessica's Lace Regency Gown

lace-dress-front.jpg

I made this Regency gown for myself using the Simplicity version a few months ago for a Larp event. I am an experienced seamstress, but this was my first Regency era gown, and I loved the lace overlay variant of the pattern. I found some beautiful bridal lace remnants I wanted to use, and a dusky pink duchess satin as an underlayer. I made a few adjustments to the front to give a better fit, and added a little train with help from the tips section. I made the scraps of left-over lace into some short fingerless gloves, adding a long piece of embroidered Organza as a stole. I am really pleased with the results and already planning the next Regency outfit!Jessica N.

Oh, this is so drool-worthy, Jessica! I love your choice of colors, and the lace overlay is stunning. Thanks for sharing!
