Colette's 1780s First Communion Dress

I have no experience with historical sewing, so I make no claims that the lace or anything else on this dress is period-correct :) When I had trouble finding a modest and elegant pattern for my daughter's first communion dress, I turned to period patterns and found this lovely website, and I am delighted with the result! This is Colette's First Holy Communion dress, made with the Girls' 1780's Portrait Dress Pattern. This is a size six without alterations, except for rotating the sleeve. The bodice was interlined and there was also a separate lining. I chose inexpensive cottons, Kaufman's voile and Kona cotton for the lining. Thankfully it all washed and pressed beautifully for her big day! The sash is laundered dupioni silk. Colette and I both thank you for this pattern!Emily
