Charity's Regency Gown

020.jpg

Fortunately, when my daughter, Charity, found out that she was to take part in a violin performance on short notice, we had the Regency pattern already on hand! I dug into our stash of fabric, and found this white-on-white cotton print. A fast trip to JoAnn's yielded the soft pink and green print for the sash. Charity did not want a ribbon, but was happy with the fabric sash. With Charity's help, we managed to get the dress completed within the 2 week time frame before the event. We plan to make a few tweaks before using this pattern again--such as making the sleeve band tighter and making the back bodice a bit smaller (I believe I will have to follow your steps to create a "petite" version for her). However, we are pleased overall, Charity has gotten a lot of compliments, and we are looking forward to sewing another dress for her! Now to get to the gorgeous green and white check fabric that is just begging for this pattern . . . !Hope Anne D.www.xanga.com/happymom4

Lovely work, Hope Anne! Thanks for sharing, and I bet the violin performance was delightful!
