Thank you! I came to this direction in the pattern and had no idea what the term meant (this is the first dress I have ever attempted), but I felt sure I would find the answer here–and so I did!

I am unable to really pay attention to this clip because your machine is horribly loud!! Is it just this video or is it truly this loud? Sounds like an overhead train passing. Ouch!!

Lillian, that’s my old Pfaff, and, yes, it really was that loud! I now have a quieter BabyLock, and my son is going to be reshooting these older videos so we have better sound and visual quality. Hope to post those this summer! Warmly, Jennie

You are so right, Margaret! This was one area I had to see done when I was learning to sew — it made no sense as a one-liner instruction in a pattern!
