Hi, sewingkitty! The software itself ranks members based upon how many times they've posted (New Member=5; Junior Member=25; Senior Member=100). I have a way to bypass this and give long-time members "Senior" status, but the software still ranks you visibly according to the number of posts. As you post more, your ranking will climb up to match the one I've already given you.

Hope this helps!

Warmly,
Jennie

That's the board's labeling, Jenny. It won't change until you've passed a certain level of posts. My making you a Senior Member gives you the privileges of someone who has already reached the top posting level, but it doesn't change the label the board gives you. Does that make sense?

Thanks!
Jennie

Hello Mrs. Chancey, I don't know if you remember me but it's Marlene Schuler (Miss Shirley) from the other board. As I recall, I was a Senior Member there with over 600 posts logged.

So good to be 'back'!

Love and leeks, Marlene Schuler... be sure to visit my sewing blob! www.thetouchofwhimsy.blogspot.com

Hi Mrs. C.

I was "A Joyful Handmaiden" back on the old board and was wondering if there was any chance of changing my newbie status to something different?

I suggest you read Jennie's explanation, a bit further up this topic. That should clarify things for you. Jennie can upgrade you, but the software for the web site still changes your status with the number of posts you make.

Suzi has it right. smile You've already been promoted to "Senior Member" status, which is why you can post freely without any moderation. However, the forum software doesn't change your member rank ("Guest," "New Member," "Junior Member," etc.) until you have posted a certain number of times. The more you post, the higher your ranking goes.

Hope this helps!

Warmly,

Mrs. Chancey

I am having difficulties uploading an avatar. I had one but removed it so I could upload a different photo. I made sure the size of the photo was within the guildelines but when I try to upload it, I get a "file source not found" error. Is this a problem on my end or this end? I was able to upload my previous avatar with no difficulties.

Thanks!

Sarah

I've had some problems too.  I'm stuck with this one right now because it won't upload a new one!  But I seem to recall a different problem.
