OfflineI'm still not able to get the link function to work since the upgrade. Is it just me?
This is what I was trying to post a link to in another thread:
sensibility.com/blog/patterns/ladies-1780s-portrait-dress-pattern/
except that it should have http:// in front of the rest of the URL.
Can anyone else successfully create the link w/o resorting to the tinyurl option?

OfflineStill not working.
This is what I am doing, just in case I'm doing it wrong!
I copy the URL that I want to link to.
I paste the URL in the Add Reply box, and then highlight it and click the 'link' button.
That brings up a box. The first blank asks for the URL, the second asks for the target (I've been selecting 'new window'), the last asks for a name, and I put Georgian Dress in that space.
Then I clink 'insert'.
Question: is that the right way to be creating a link?

OfflineHi Geneece,
Let me give it a try and see what happens…
** you don't have permission to see this link ** is your link….did it work?
It appears to have worked for me, can you see it and is this the link? I do it a bit differently than you do, Geneece. When I get to the 'add reply' box, I do not put the link down. I put the word I want displayed in the link, in the 'add reply' box, then I highlight that word, which allows the link icon to be engaged. I click on that icon, and when that box comes up, I paste the address in the URL box and hit submit. It is working fine for me, and I have done this in both FF and Chrome, both my FF and Chrome are up to date. Try it this way and see if that doesn't make a difference.
I am going to try it now, your way, and see what happens:
http://** you don't have permission to see this link ** OK, your way does not work for me either, the address is too big, so it's stripping part of the address off. My guess is, the linking system here must be similar to the tinyurl that people are using. It allows you to insert the URL in another format. I'm not sure of the reasoning for this, but that's obviously how this forum is working with links.
So now, do not put your web address into this 'add reply' box. Only put the word you want to hide the address in, on this page, and put the web link in the URL box, when you hit that icon and the box pops up, then hit 'submit'. Does that make sense?
Carol
