OfflineOkay, ladies, here's a lesson in linking so you don't have huge long URLs in your posts.
First, write a regular sentence in which you mention something you want to link to, like "I love Sense & Sensibility Patterns!" ![]()
Now highlight the words you want to link and click the little link icon in the toolbar above the post field (it's the image of a "chain link"). That will open a pop-up box that gives you the options you see in this screenshot (click for larger image):
** you don't have permission to see this link **
Basically, you'll paste the URL into "Link URL", then type the word you've highlighted into the "Title" field. In this case, it would be "Sense & Sensibility Patterns," which creates a link like this:
I love ** you don't have permission to see this link **!
That's all there is to it. If you want to set the target to open in a new window, you can do that with the drop-down menu option.
Hope this helps!
Warmly,
Jennie
PS – Guests can't post links. That's a safety feature we have here to keep spammers from littering the forum. So far, so good! Once you've progressed past five moderated posts, you'll get the links feature. ![]()

OfflineI did exactly that, and still can't get the link to work properly.
If you look at the underline in the link, it stops at the letter F and the rest is not underlined. Therefore, it only links to as much as is underlined.
The link I want to create is for
** you don't have permission to see this link **
but I can't even get it to show up in its entirety.
Can you see the whole link? Even for copy-and-paste ability?
For me it's showing …. from the F to the _dress. Even when I copy and paste it's not a valid link.

OfflineChecking out if I can get this to work following the directions in this ** you don't have permission to see this link ** . I must confess, that's a bit backwards from our previous board or any other forum I have used. ;) .
Looks like this worked, I am going to have to get use to this new way of doing it.
Old dog, new tricks….goodness.
Thanks for the help,
Carol
