Sarah's Regency Ball Ensemble

I got my sister and myself tickets to an upcoming Regency ball. And I hadn't a clue what I was going to wear. Anything that I would choose would have to be altered (losing 30 lbs. will make your entire wardrobe not fit anymore). Now would be an excellent time to see if there was any hope for that light green damask crossover dress.

Sheri's Regency Ensemble

Customer Sheri A. created her Regency ensemble from the skin out, beginning with a chemise and short (transitional) stays, then making the lovely gown of dotted Swiss to go over both.

Jette's Exquisite Crossover Gown

Thanks a lot for this great pattern. I have never before done anything from this period, but both the underwear and the crossover gown pattern went together like a dream. The dress looks so nice, you hardly notice that it is made from an old Ikea curtain and three old pillow cases ;-) Since I live in Germany I used your e-pattern option, which even work easily on my Linux.

Kari's Regency Ballgowns

Hi Jennie, Last year my self and my family went to a Regency dance. I made all 3 dresses and open robes. I used the Elegant Lady’s Closet and the original Regency Gown pattern for my daughter’s dress. I used the Elegant Lady’s Closet to make the open robes with modifications. The dance was held

Heather's Regency Ballgown

I made this dress using your Simplicity pattern. My English Country Dance group was having a ball, and I needed a new dress. I started the dress on the 11th, and the ball was on the 15th! I used a cream colored satin and organdy, and my mom hand embroidered the overlay with little green flowers. And on that fabric, it's TOUGH! I finished the dress 2 hours before the ball, and I had a lot of fun making and wearing it!

Angela's Regency Ballgown

Last year, my friend and I went to the Pittsburgh JASNA Jane Austen Festival. I already had a day dress (bought online years ago), but wanted an evening dress, as the festival was having a ball. A seamstress friend of mine adapted the Elegant Lady’s Closet pattern (crossover dress, I think) so the bodice resembled

Jessica's Lace Regency Gown

I made this Regency gown for myself using the Simplicity version a few months ago for a Larp event. I am an experienced seamstress, but this was my first Regency era gown, and I loved the lace overlay variant of the pattern.

Abigail's Silk Regency Gown with Spencer

I made this silk Regency gown from Sense and Sensibility's Simplicity pattern. I think that the only adaptation I made was to raise the neckline a bit. The material is silk that a friend of mine brought from Thailand for me. I added ribbon trim on the sleeves, braid around the empire waistline, and ribbon around the hem. I made the Spencer jacket based on the same pattern, using the long sleeves, and the basic bodice pattern, adapted to be a jacket instead of a dress bodice.
