Kara’s Darling Girl’s Regency Dress

By Jennie Chancey

I’m an adventurous beginner seamstress. I like to pretend I know what I’m doing — but in reality, I don’t have the faintest clue. I got the regency pattern for me, and made my dress, and I think I attempted to alter it more than my skill would allow — its looks pretty funny. So, I went and got the kids’ one. I’ve made my daughter clothes before, and she’s 2, so she doesn’t care if I mess up and dress her funny. But I think her dress turned out really cute. I tried to get more pictures, but, she ran away. Oh, my husband chose the fabric. I was going to do the dress all in the pink skirt fabric, and was told no, he got the white for the bodice.

This is adorable, Kara! I like your husband’s taste, too. I think I see some of the most beautiful work from “beginners.” Great job!

She is such a cutie! I really like the color combination of her outfit. Hopefully you’ll get to sew more for her!
