Casey's Glamorous Swing Dress

12_07_10c.jpg

This is my third version of the Swing Dress that I've made in the past year--I just love the pattern and silhouette so much! Plus it's a pretty quick project. I used a semi-sheer rayon print I picked up at JoAnn's on clearance earlier this summer for the dress and made a few changes to the pattern. Namely leaving off the sash ties. While both my first dresses from this pattern had them, I decided that I wanted to play around with more accessorizing options and allow for wearing a belt. I made a self-fabric belt to wear with this, although I'm using a vintage patent belt in these pictures. I really love the versatility it gives! (I have more details on my blog: http://elegantmusings.com/2010/12/polka-dot-swing-dress )The final picture shows how I wore it on a typical early December day--bundled up to stay warm! Even though the fabric I used is lightweight, I just layered it with some other pieces to stay warm and give it a bit of a vintage-modern look.I absolutely adore this pattern, Jennie, and recommend it to everyone!Casey

I absolutely LOVE this! Casey has a classic vintage style that just leaps out of the photos, doesn't it? From the hair to the seamed stockings, she's got The Look. Beautiful!
