Adriana's Stunning Girl's Georgian Dress

2010-10-149.jpg

This is my first attempt with a Sense and Sensibility Pattern, and it won't be my last. I had so much fun putting this together. I have made several 1860 dresses, so it was fun to make something from the 1780's. After falling in love with the photos of the 1780's Girls Portrait dress on the website, my daughter chose the red toile fabric. I trimmed the sleeves and made the sash with some cranberry colored dupioni silk. I put a large box pleat in the very front of the dress to accent the pattern of the toile and hand gathered the rest of the skirt. I also added three tucks on the skirt. This was the perfect Christmas dress!Adriana

Wow, wow, WOW! My jaw just dropped when I opened this email. The fabric is so incredibly gorgeous, and the fit of the dress is perfect. What fantastic work, Adriana! Thank you so much for sharing!
