I’ve known Amanda Kastner for what seems like donkey’s years–way back to the early 2000s before she started her own line of patterns, Hint of History. In fact, Amanda entered and won my 2004 Young Designers’ Pattern contest with her beautiful 1912 Kimono Dress pattern! After that, she went from strength to strength, creating her own gorgeous pattern designs and branching out into illustration with her Story Seamstress brand. I’ve been delighted to see the lovely things Amanda has created and how she has honed her talents.
Amanda has now produced a simply charming coloring book, featuring 25 of Jane Austen’s most famous quotes in whimsical settings with delightful hand-drawn ink illustrations. The 8.5″ x 11″ book is printed on smooth white 65# paper, which is excellent for colored pencils, pens, markers, and even light watercolor washes! (Full list of quotes and previews of all the pages: http://books.storyseamstress.com/p/jane-austen-coloring-book.html).
If you love the relaxation of coloring and enjoy Jane as much as I do, this book is directly up your alley! Or perhaps you have a Janeite friend who can’t get enough Austen paraphernalia? This makes a fabulous gift. If you aren’t keen on coloring the illustrations yourself, Amanda also offers mini prints that she has inked in beautifully, making them suitable for framing and sharing:
To celebrate Amanda’s achievements, I am hosting a giveaway of a copy of “She Coloured,” and I’ve also got a special coupon code you can use in Amanda’s online shop!
